Unfortunately the Keyshia Cole vs Ashanti Verzuz battle had to be postponed twice, the first time because Ashanti tested positive for Covid-19.  The battle finally took place on Thursday January 21st.  The battle was the first time in months that the artists weren’t in the same room.

Ashanti came into the industry in 2002 as a member of Murder Inc., the crew run by Irv Gotti and Ja Rule.  The Long Island bred singer took the world by storm with her debut self-titled album featuring hits like “Foolish” and “Baby”.  She also made a name for herself making appearances on songs like “What’s Luv?” by Fat Joe, “Always On Time” by Ja Rule and so much more. To date she has released 5 solo albums, her last being Braveheart, released in 2014.

Keyshia Cole emerged on the scene in late 2004, but her debut album, The Way It Is was released in the Summer of 2015, featuring the lead single, “Changed My Mind” featuring Kanye West.  She rode the wave of sad songs on that debut project and for her next couple of albums before switching gears a bit for a happier tone on her later projects.  Keyshia has released 7 solo albums, her last being 11:11 Reset, released in 2017.

Like we have done previously with these Verzuz battles, here’s a round by round break down of the Keyshia Cole vs Ashanti battle.
