If you seen “Ghost,” than you already know actress Whoopi Goldberg has a sassy side. Evidently, an audience member didn’t see the feature film, because while attending a live taping of “The View” the heckler had the audacity to call Goldberg an ‘old broad.’ The drama set off before the show even began. ‘The View‘ hosts all came out to take their seats to cheering onlookers when one particularly zealous audience member yelled at Goldberg. The 67-year-old show panelist paused, turned her attention to the spectators and asked, “Did you just call me an ‘old broad’? Yeah?”

The camera then shifted to a woman sitting in the audience donning a large fur hat who acknowledged she said it by nodding. The Oscar-winning actress responded to the on-air badgerer with a combo of sugar and spice. “She said, ‘You old broad,’ and I was like, ‘Hey, it’s Wednesday, and I am an old broad, and happy about it.’” ‘The View‘ co-host Sunny Hostin then hopped in the conversation to defend her comrade. Hostin mollified Goldberg, expressing “being an ‘old broad’ is better than the alternative.” The “Sister Act” star retorted, “The alternative is not attractive to any of us. We all want to be old broads and old dudes, you know?”

Whoopi Goldberg has recently been in the frying pan after reiterating a slur that got her suspended from ‘The View.’ The ‘old broad’ said in her latest apology: “Recently while doing press in London, I was asked about my comments from earlier this year. I tried to convey to the reporter what I had said and why, and attempted to recount that time.

“It was never my intention to appear as if I was doubling down on hurtful comments, especially after talking with and hearing people like rabbis and old and new friends weighing in. I’m still learning a lot, and believe me, I heard everything everyone said to me. I believe that the Holocaust was about race, and I am still as sorry now as I was then that I upset, hurt and angered people. My sincere apologies again, especially to everyone who thought this was a fresh rehash of the subject. I promise it was not.”
