Amidst all of the terrible “Spring” weather happening in New York recently, Florida native and JIVE Recordings talent Kevin Cossom stopped in Brooklyn’s world famous Vinnie’s Styles to put a lil’ pep in our step Monday night to autograph copies of his most recent mixtape, By Any Means.
Also a listening event for his upcoming project Hook vs. Bridge 1.5, a fashionable crowd of Hip-Hoppers and Hip-Hoppets crowded the BK monument with old-school Rap albums splashed on its walls, coloring Cossom’s painting for a perfect listening event, with DJ Zeke on the wheels.
Dimes in abundance bobbleheaded to the tunes off of By Any Means, which included “She Like Me,” and “Work,” which is a personal favorite of mine, having listened to his tape.  It’s easy to admire his style, which mixes singing, and rapping, as easily as sugar, water, purple!  He has a truly gifted voice, without the auto-tune, and can really spit.  Besides all of that, I was impressed that he managed to rap (and sing) over Tears for Fears’ “Everybody Wants To Rule The World,” a beat Danja modified a bit, but Cossom managed to prove himself regardless.
Check out his tape, By Any Means, and look out for his next joint, Hook vs. Bridge 1.5.
