Logic’s Everybody First Week Sales In, Rapper Debuts On Top of Charts

Rapper Logic has ousted Kendrick Lamar on top of the charts with his third album, Everybody. Kendrick Lamar had been on top of the Billboard Charts with Damn. since the week after the album’s release on April 14th. Logic’s Everybody first week sales were also enough to surpass Chris Stapleton’s sales for From A Room: Vol. 1.

According to Billboard, Everybody sold 247,000 album-equivalent units in total, with 196,000 of those being traditional album sales. The Everybody first week sales were the best for any Logic album, although each of his previous releases had entered the charts in the top 5. His mixtape, last year’s Bobby Tarantino debuted at No. 12 on the charts, which is still quite respectable for a mixtape.

Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. fell two spots from No. 1 to No. 3 selling 134,000 units; down 22 percent after three weeks atop the list.

Fellow rapper, Russ, who had the other Hip-Hop release last week with his, There’s Really A Wolf, debuted at Number 7 on the charts, moving 49,000 units with 24,000 coming in via traditional album sales.

Everybody is the twelfth No. 1 album of 2017, and the seventh Hip-Hop album to take the number one spot.

The others are Migos with Culture, Big Sean with I Decided, Future’s self-titled album and his immediate follow-up HNDRXX, Drake’s More Life, and Kendrick Lamar’s DAMN. Now Logic’s Everybody first week sales help him join the Hip-Hop number one ranks.

Last week Logic announced his Everybody national tour with Joey Bada$$.

The good year for Hip-Hop has to be even more disappointing for Wale, who just a week ago had a very disappointing debut week with his fifth album, Shine. He pushed his album up a week so he wouldn’t have to compete against Logic, but his first week sales were out done by Playboi Carti, Russ and of course Logic as well!
